History
The Seeley-Swan YMCA began in 1997 with a group of dedicated
Seeley-Swan volunteers. They believed that involvement in healthy activities
and events will create an environment which promotes the well-being of
everyone, regardless of age, income or ability. The Seeley-Swan YMCA,
with the assistance of the Missoula
Family YMCA, continues with its mission to provide programs and services
which promote a healthy spirit, mind, and body for everyone.
Mission
Since its start 150 years ago, the YMCA of the USA has been
helping to develop a core set of values for all YMCAs to follow:
Caring
Responsibility
Honesty
Respect
The Seeley-Swan YMCA is committed to incorporating these
values into our programs. Through the efforts of our dedicated staff and
volunteers, we hope to make a positive difference in the lives of the
people we serve.
Most importantly, we believe these values are the key to
helping to solve many of the social and economic problems our community
faces today.
It is through building partnerships with local schools,
businesses, and organizations, that the YMCA is able to serve our community.
They help to develop a set of positive values, morals, and ethics. It
is our belief that these are the building blocks that make a strong individual,
a strong family, and ultimately a strong community. (Back
